This policy applies to the Parallel Code Android companion app (com.parallelcode.phone), published by The Front End and maintained by Johannes Millan. Contact: contact@super-productivity.com.
Parallel Code connects your phone directly to the Parallel Code desktop application that you choose. The project does not operate a relay or account service for these connections. The Android app contains no advertising or developer-operated analytics or crash reporting. Google scanner diagnostics are described below. You do not create an account with us.
The app sends connection and pairing credentials to your selected desktop. It receives task names, agent status, usage information, terminal output, conversations, notes, and source-code changes. When you use the corresponding controls, it sends prompts, terminal input, notes, and task actions to that desktop. These may contain personal information or confidential code. Your desktop and the AI agents and services you configure there process and may retain this content under their own settings and policies. The Parallel Code project does not receive a copy.
Saved computer addresses, computer names, access tokens, preferences, quick replies, and prompt history are stored in the app's private Android storage. Content received from your desktop is held in memory for display; the home-screen widget also stores a summary locally. Android notification history may retain task information until you clear it. Access tokens authorize access to your computer: protect your phone and any backups.
Location permission is requested only if you choose to identify your current home Wi-Fi. Android requires it to reveal the Wi-Fi network name. The app compares that name locally with the home network you save to decide whether to wait for a VPN. It does not request GPS coordinates, track your movements, or send the Wi-Fi name to the developer. Wi-Fi recognition is used only while the app is visible; the app does not request background location. You can decline or revoke location access and continue using the app.
Notification permission lets the app notify you when an agent needs input, encounters an error, or finishes. Enabling agent notifications starts a foreground service with an ongoing notification to maintain the connection to your desktop. Turn notifications off in the app's settings to stop this service. If Wait for VPN is enabled, background connections wait for an active VPN.
Optional QR scanning uses Google's Play services code scanner. The scanner handles camera access and returns the scanned link to the app; Parallel Code does not receive camera images or request camera permission. Google's scanner SDK sends device and app information, device or installation identifiers, performance measurements, API usage events, and error codes to Google for diagnostics and usage analytics over HTTPS. Scanning images and results are processed on your device, not sent to Google by the scanner. You can paste a connection link instead of scanning. See https://developers.google.com/ml-kit/android-data-disclosure.
Optional voice input opens the speech recognizer installed on your device. That provider may send audio to its servers under its own privacy policy and settings. Parallel Code receives the recognized text, which you can review before sending it to your desktop. The app does not record or store audio itself.
You can export or schedule backups to a file or folder you select through Android. If you select a cloud storage provider, that provider receives the backup under its own policy. Backups contain settings, saved computers and prompt history. Password-protected backups encrypt their contents using AES-256-GCM and include paired access tokens. Unencrypted backups omit paired tokens but still contain view-only access tokens and other saved data. Treat all backup files as sensitive. The password for scheduled encrypted backups is protected with Android Keystore. Automatic Android cloud backup and device transfer of app data are disabled.
The app supports direct HTTP/WebSocket connections on your network as well as HTTPS connections. Plain HTTP is not encrypted by the app. Use a trusted network or an encrypted VPN, or configure HTTPS on your desktop endpoint, to protect sensitive content and tokens in transit. The Wait for VPN setting detects whether a VPN is active; it does not verify that the VPN routes every connection.
Google Play distributes and updates Play-installed copies under Google's privacy policy. Play-installed copies do not use the app's GitHub update checker. For copies installed outside an app store, the optional update checker contacts GitHub, which receives normal network metadata such as your IP address. Opening external links also sends normal network metadata to the destination. Google's policy is at https://policies.google.com/privacy and GitHub's at https://docs.github.com/en/site-policy/privacy-policies/github-general-privacy-statement.
Saved app data remains on your phone until you remove it or clear the app's storage in Android settings or uninstall the app. Forgetting a computer removes its saved connection credentials from this phone. Revoke remembered phone access on the desktop as well if you want to invalidate its authorization. Clearing phone data does not delete content on your desktop, AI-provider systems, exported backups, cloud storage, or Android notification history; delete those separately using the relevant service or device controls. Scheduled backups keep the most recent backups according to the app's retention limit.
We have no developer-hosted account or copy of your app content to delete or export. For privacy questions or requests concerning information you send us directly, contact the address above. We use support correspondence to respond to your request and retain it only as needed for that purpose and applicable obligations.
Parallel Code is a developer tool and is not directed at children under 13. We update this policy when the app's data practices change. The date above identifies this version.
